Family Law Court

We have been preparing valuations for Family Court matters since 1988. Ralph Merrell has appeared in Court as an expert witness on numerous occasions. Valuations have been prepared for a wide variety of businesses from small retail shops to businesses turning over tens of millions of dollars. Valuations have been prepared in all business sectors including manufacturing, wholesale, retail, distribution, transport and professional practices.

All types of economic structures have been valued including sole traders, companies, partnerships, superannuation funds, discretionary trusts, unit trusts and hybrid trusts.

In addition to preparing reports as a single expert under the new rules introduced in 2004, we have also been retained as ghost experts to advise a party in relation to preparing instructions for a single expert and reviewing the report of a single expert.

Ralph has prepared and presented papers to various State Legal Conferences over the past 10 years on the valuation of company shares and business assets for Family Law proceedings. Copies of these papers are available on request.

We are pleased to provide preliminary estimates of our fees for consideration by the parties in appointing a single expert.

Economic Loss

Reports have been prepared for economic loss matters in personal injury matters and commercial loss matters. As required Ralph has appeared as an expert witness in these matters. These matters have been before the Supreme Court of NSW, Federal Court of Australia and the District Court of NSW.
